Unmanned Aircraft Systems
UNMANNED AIRCRAFT SYSTEMS GROUND SEGMENT MODERNIZATION PROGRAM AND GLOBAL HAWK OPERATIONS FACILITY PHASE 1, 2
GRAND FORKS AIR FORCE BASE, NORTH DAKOTA
ICS was invited to negotiate the design build contract as a result of our ongoing relationship with the owners group and other successful projects for various upgrades to the unmanned aircraft operations at the secure sites.
Phase 1 of the contract was to provide the design work for the project and as the design was approved, change orders were added to complete the work. Phase 1 work consisted of communications cabling, RF room renovations, protected distribution system, LRE temporary shelter and relocation once the facility was completed. The bulk of the work was completed in Building 542 and minor renovations in Building 542. Upon completion of the upgrades both buildings work as one command center.
Phase 2 of the project involved exterior work such as hydro vac for foundations, catwalk foundations, pipe rack steel support and radom environmental control system.
